India itself is a diverse country which has had many cultural contributions of its own. There is no one style of Indian cuisine and each region has its own particular styles of cooking and specialities. From the North of the Indian subcontinent come Punjabi culinary styles and flavours, dominated by rich masala spices and creamy sauces. Rice and wheat based dishes are common too, such as stuffed paratha or naan breads and rice cooked in a variety of ways. Onion, garlic and ginger are used liberally and Tandoori cooking, employing a Tandoor clay oven, derives from the Punjab.

Sharay Punjab presents all the essential delicacies and specialities which have made Punjabi and Indian cuisine so popular and for a modern age have replaced much of the high fat content of clarified butter and oil so dominant in traditional Punjabi cooking with sunflower alternatives. Most Punjabi dishes are naturally healthy with a great many vegetarian options to choose from and the Tandoori style of cooking meat enhances the flavour without adding to the calories.
